Battery Storage in Garland

A home battery keeps your fridge, lights, and outlets running when the grid goes down. It also stores daytime solar for evening use. We size it to what you actually use, install it cleanly, and send photos of each step so you know how it was done.

What a Home Battery Does for You

A battery stores electricity for later. With solar, it fills up during the day and runs your home after sunset or during an outage. Without solar, it charges from the grid and sits ready as backup.

The question is not whether a battery is good. It is which circuits you want to keep on, and for how long. A fridge, a few lights, the internet router, and a well pump need far less than central air. We start with that list, then size the battery to fit it.

We take pictures of your electrical panel, meter, and mounting spot before we start, during the wiring, and when the job is done. You keep that set. If you ever sell your home or need service, you have a record of what is behind the covers.

What the Battery Job Includes

Load review
We go through your panel circuit by circuit and ask what matters during an outage. That sets battery size and whether you need whole-home or partial backup.
Battery and gateway
We install the battery and the gateway or transfer equipment that disconnects your home from the grid when power drops. That disconnect keeps line workers safe and lets the battery take over.
Backup loads panel when needed
For partial backup, we move the chosen circuits to a separate subpanel. Only those circuits draw from the battery, so it lasts longer.
Pairing with your solar
If you already have panels, we connect the battery so it charges from them. We check the inverter first, since some systems pair easily and others need added equipment.
Permit and utility paperwork
We pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and file the interconnection paperwork with your utility. You do not need to call anyone.
Setup and walkthrough
We set the battery mode, connect the monitoring app, and show you how to read it. Then we hand over the job record.

When a Home Battery Is Worth It

  • You have lost a fridge full of food

Summer thunderstorms and the odd hard freeze can cut power for hours at a time. If you have had to empty a warm fridge more than once, backup deserves a closer look.

  • Someone at home relies on power

Medical equipment, a home office, or a sump or well pump all need steady power. A battery switches over in a moment, with no generator to start.

  • Your solar sends most of its power back

If your panels make plenty at noon but you buy power every evening, a battery lets you use your own solar after dark.

  • You want backup without fuel or noise

A battery runs quietly against a wall. No gas to store, no engine to service, no exhaust near the house.

How a Battery Install Day Runs

  1. 1

    Site visit

We look at your panel, meter, and where the battery can go. Good spots are shaded, out of the way, and meet code clearances. We document what we see and walk you through it.

  2. 2

    Line-item plan

We explain the size we recommend, which circuits it covers, and why. We go over each line item with you before any work is scheduled.

  3. 3

    Install day

Most installs take one day. We mount the battery, wire the gateway, and move circuits if needed. Power is off for part of the day, and we tell you when ahead of time.

  4. 4

    Inspection and turn-on

The city inspects the work. Once it passes and the utility approves, we switch the system on and test a real grid disconnect with you watching.

What Moves the Price of a Battery

Battery cost depends mostly on how much storage you need and how much wiring it takes to connect it. We break out each part so you can see where the money goes. If a smaller battery covers what you care about, we will say so.

Storage size
More capacity costs more. Backing up a few key circuits takes far less than running the whole house, central air included.
Whole-home or partial backup
Partial backup often needs a separate loads panel. Whole-home backup may need a larger gateway and sometimes a second battery.
Your existing panel and solar
An older or full electrical panel may need upgrades first. Some solar inverters pair with a battery directly, while others need extra equipment.
Mounting location
A garage wall next to the panel is the simplest. A longer wire run, an outdoor pad, or a shade cover adds labor and material.

Common Battery Questions

Something not covered here? (972) 456-9943

How long will the backup last?

It depends on what stays on. A single battery can run a fridge, lights and outlets for a day or longer. Central air drains it much faster. With solar, it recharges when the sun is out, so it can carry you through a long outage.

I've had panels for years. Can I add a battery now?

Usually, yes. We start by checking and photographing your inverter and electrical panel. Some setups accept a battery right away, and others need an extra inverter or adapter. We tell you which one you have before you make any decision.

Can I get a battery without solar panels?

Yes. A battery can charge from the grid and wait for an outage. Adding solar brings everyday savings, and we can go over solar panel installation if you'd like both.

Can a battery power my AC?

It can, but central air uses a lot of power and pulls a big surge when it starts. That usually calls for more storage or a bigger gateway. Plenty of people back up the rest of the house and leave the AC off so the battery can be smaller.

Does a battery need maintenance?

Hardly any. Keep the space around it open and glance at the app from time to time. The battery controls its own temperature. If the app shows a fault, call us and we'll check it out.
